Exploring Aging, Sickness and Death as Gateways to Living a Fuller Life

  • Internal Arts New England 102 Bridge Road Salisbury, MA United States (map)
Matthew Daniell

The Buddha taught that old age, illness, and the inevitability of death can be powerful positive teachers in our lives. In this workshop we will combine discussion, silent meditation periods, and reflection on the first three of the Buddha’s five reflections – I am of a nature to age, to get sick, and to die. We will explore how a shared, open inquiry into these universal themes can help wake us up to living a richer, more fulfilling life, in the here and now. All are welcome.

Matthew Daniell is the guiding teacher of NSIMC. He has been practicing Buddhist meditation since the 1980s, including over a decade in Asia, where he practiced Zen intensively in Japan, Tibetan Buddhism in India, and Insight meditation in Burma, India, and Thailand. Read more about Matthew on his teacher page.
