Mindfulness for Daily Living with Matthew Daniell (12-week Wednesday night series)

When: Jan. 10 - Apr. 10 (no class Jan. 31 or Mar. 13)

Where: Hybrid - online or in-person at Matthew’s house in West Newbury, MA (address emailed to registrants)

Time: 7–9 pm

Cost: $225, $275, or $325 (sliding scale)

This class is a holistic approach to mindfulness based on Three Steps to Awakening: A Practice for Bringing Mindfulness to Life by Larry Rosenberg, founder of Cambridge Insight Meditation Center. We will be using Larry's teachings to support us in developing skill and artfulness in our meditation practice, with an emphasis on daily living. The basic steps are: whole body breathing, breathing with life, and choiceless awareness. Matthew taught these steps side by side with Larry for many years and will add a number of nuances to the approach that many people have found helpful in supporting a wise and compassionate way of mindful living. Each week there will be readings and reflections to bring into our formal and engaged daily life practice. When we gather together (in person or online) each week, there will be guided and silent meditation periods along with a reflection and time for discussion. 

This series is appropriate for those with at least some meditation experience. Each class will consist of about 1 hour and 15 minutes of formal meditation practice and about 45 minutes of teaching and discussion.
