The Buddha's Eightfold Path is often called the Noble Eightfold Path – why? It is noble because it supports us in discovering and cultivating qualities in our hearts and minds that are fundamentally clear and kind. It is noble because it leads to freedom from suffering. In this series we will systematically explore the eight aspects of this path. They are:
Wise View
Wise Thought
Wise Speech
Wise Action
Wise Livelihood
Wise Effort
Wise Mindfulness
Wise Focus
Together they form a holistic approach to living that deeply values our inner practice as well as our relational lives. Each week we will explore one aspect of the path, apply it in our life, and then dive deeper when we meet as a group. Each gathering, which you can attend online or in person, will include guided and mostly silent meditation periods as well as a short talk, and discussion/Q&A. The sessions will also be recorded and available to attendees if they cannot attend a given week for any reason.
This series is designed for those with at least one year of meditation practice. Each class will consist of about 1 hour and 15 minutes of formal meditation practice and about 45 minutes of teaching and discussion.
