Mindfulness teaches us to let go of judgments and be with what is happening in the present moment, just as it is. As we develop this skill, we touch a sense of timelessness. We feel the relief of not being held hostage to our thoughts of the past, future, or even any interpretation of what is happening in the present. On a practical level, meeting life's moments fully, without needing them to be any other way than they are, nourishes the heart. It gives us greater freedom just to be simple and clear and kind in how we relate to ourselves and others, whether we are in the midst of meditating or living our busy daily lives. This retreat will begin with a reflection on this topic, include periods of silent and guided meditation, and finish with discussion. It is suitable for new as well as experienced meditators.
