This is the second session of Matthew Daniell’s spring Wednesday night series, running from April to June – this is the last opportunity to register for this series.
Dipa Ma (1911–1989) was a humble poor woman who lived in Kolkata, India. She faced many losses and challenges, and yet became an illuminated Insight meditation master, who touched thousands of lives. Matthew practiced under her direct guidance in Kolkata for a number of months in the late 1980s. He, along with Western pioneers such as Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, and Jack Kornfield, were profoundly impacted by her example, teachings, and presence. In this eight-week class series, we will read the book Dipa Ma: The Life and Legacy of a Buddhist Master to inform and inspire our own practice. This Wednesday series will run from April 16th to June 4th, meeting on Zoom from 7 to 8:30 pm, with the option of meeting together in person at least once at Matthew's house. Each participant will need to purchase a copy of the book, which is available at Amazon and other sellers. Each session will include silent and guided meditation, reflection, and a discussion period.
All those with at least some prior meditation experience are welcome to attend!
