How to Relax Deeply with Insight Meditation, with Max Johnson

  • Internal Arts New England 102 Bridge Road Salisbury, MA United States (map)

We live in a chaotic and tense world. Out of compassion for us, the Buddha taught insight meditation techniques that cause deep relaxation and tranquility.

Would you like to feel calmer and more relaxed? How can we relax and face difficulty in the world at the same time?

In this program, through short guided meditations, we will experientially investigate a dozen different insight meditation techniques that can induce relaxation and calm, without running from our problems. There will also be periods of silent meditation, an instructional talk, discussion, and Q&A.

This program works as a natural introduction to insight meditation for first-time meditators. It is also suitable for intermediate and advanced meditators, particularly as we explore the Buddha’s declaration that progressively deepening relaxation further and further is necessary to develop the deeper levels of insight that, in turn, reduce suffering more and more.

Please note, this program is being held on a Sunday, rather than the usual Saturday slot.

Max Johnson has been practicing Dhamma since 2014. He is particularly interested in Early Buddhism, and the similarities and differences it has with modern Buddhism.
