Impermanence - constant change, the transient nature of reality - we seem to understand it all and accept it intellectually. It is empirically palpable, scientifically honored. Yet, do we really embrace impermanence? Do we really know it? Are we welcoming every change that happens around and within us?
In this workshop we will examine our intimate relationship with change and impermanence. We will try to discover and clearly experience our existing patterns of reactivity, clinging, and aversion towards the nature of existence, as well as how our perception of impermanence shifts depending on what and who is the subject of change. We will contemplate the prevalence of impermanence in all aspects of human experience. We will also learn to use mindfulness (awareness) and insight (wisdom) to generate all-inclusive, liberating acceptance of change.
This program will include silent meditation but also guided reflection and discussion.
