
Adam Groff
Adam Groff is both manager and teacher at North Shore Insight Meditation Community. He has been practicing Buddhist meditation since 2009, beginning at the Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport under the instruction of Matthew Daniell. He helped lead Dharma Punx Boston, a peer-led meditation community, from 2010 to 2015, and in 2014 he completed a yearlong meditation facilitator training with Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society under Noah Levine. He then helped found and run Against the Stream Boston and Boston Meditation Center from 2014 to 2018. His other main meditation teachers are Chris Crotty, Dave Smith, and Heather Sundberg. He completed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training in 2022 and became a Certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator with Mindful Leader in 2023. Adam has experience managing residential retreats, and he sits weeklong retreats each year with lay teachers and monastics in the Insight/Theravada tradition. He is in graduate school for mental health counseling.
